Databricks Expert/Senior Data Engineer

Our company is preparing for a strategic migration of the existing data platform to Databricks to build a robust, secure, and scalable infrastructure for big data processing and AI solution development.
We’re looking for experienced Databricks Experts who can not only design and execute the migration but also share best practices and mentor internal teams on architecture and DevOps setup.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and plan the migration of the current data platform to Databricks.
- Design the architecture of the new platform (data ingestion, storage, compute, ML).
- Set up the environment, clusters, workspaces, and security policies.
- Optimize existing ETL processes for Spark/Databricks.
- Lead and mentor the internal team throughout the migration (mentorship, code reviews, training).
- Share best practices and prepare operational documentation.
- Ensure platform stability, scalability, and fault tolerance.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks in production environments.
- Strong knowledge of Spark / PySpark, Delta Lake, MLflow, Unity Catalog.
- Proven experience in designing and migrating data pipelines to Databricks (batch and streaming).
- Solid understanding of Lakehouse architecture and DataOps principles.
- Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) in the context of Databricks.
- Integration experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Proficiency in Python / SQL / Spark SQL.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines for data projects (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
- English level B2+ (confident communication with technical and non-technical teams).
- Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work in uncertainty.
- Ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies, work independently, and communicate directly with clients.
Nice to have:
- Experience with Databricks AI/ML, AutoML, and Feature Store.
- Knowledge of Terraform for infrastructure automation in Databricks.
- Experience with data governance and data quality solutions.
- Databricks Certified Data Engineer or Machine Learning Professional certification.
- Experience mentoring or leading technical teams.
